MooLand was founded in 2018 on a tranquil, family-run dairy farming plot just outside Harare, Zimbabwe. The vision came from the founder, Haley, who had grown up in the farm setting in the 1990s and was passionate about enabling other children in this modern, technological era to experience outdoor farm life. Haley wanted to provide a hands-on learning experience with friendly farm animals, teach children where their food comes from (not the supermarket), and to instill a spark in young ones to start growing their own food—milk, eggs, vegetables, grains, fruit, and meat—all while respecting animals as sentient beings and raising them in a sustainable, non-superficial way (avoiding chemicals and harmful hormones). And interacting with the livestock on a daily basis. It started as a space for school children to have educational, hands-on tours and grew to accommodate family groups, kids' birthday parties, and events like the Junior Farmers' Club and Easter Family Fun Day.
